日本人の父とフィリピン人の母のもとに生まれ、幼少期から歌手を志す。
2009年より株式会社はとバスにてバスガイドを務めた後、2012年から2019年まで、ボーカルスクール「WORLD VOICE」の専属アーティスト兼講師として活動。
2019年、「アポロアマチュアナイトジャパン2019」にて審査員特別賞を受賞。アメリカ・ニューヨークのアポロシアター決勝ラウンド「スーパートップドッグ」では、アジア人初の“決勝ゲスト”として出演し、圧巻の歌唱で観客を魅了した。
2022年から2024年1月までは、トライロジックプロダクションに所属。カバーアルバム『The Advent of The Soul』でデビュー。
2023年には、アメリカ国務省が主催する国際的リーダー育成プログラム「IVLP（International Visitor Leadership Program）」に指名され、音楽を通じた社会変革をテーマにした特別交流プログラムに日本代表として参加。3週間にわたりアメリカ各地を訪問した。
2024年には、カタール・フィルハーモニック・オーケストラと共演。国際舞台でも、日本人アーティストとしての感性と実力を鮮やかに示した。
そして2025年5月14日、待望のオリジナル・ファーストアルバム『Be Real』をリリース。
このアルバムは、長年にわたり日本の音楽を築き、牽引してきた作家・アレンジャー・演奏家たちが魂を注いで完成させた渾身の一作となっている。
その豊かな表現力と圧倒的な歌唱力を活かし、これまでにゴスペルシンガーTiA、ドラマーYOYOKA、倉木麻衣、Awesome City Club、平陸、郷ひろみなど、様々なアーティストのコーラスサポートも担当。ジャンルを越えて多方面で活躍を続けている。
Born to a Japanese father and a Filipina mother, Wakasa has dreamed of becoming a singer since childhood.
She began her professional career in 2009 as a tour guide for Hato Bus Co., Ltd., and from 2012 to 2019, she served as both a featured artist and vocal coach at the vocal school “WORLD VOICE.”
In 2019, she was awarded the Special Jury Prize at Apollo Amateur Night Japan 2019.
Later that year, she appeared at the Super Top Dog finals at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York City, making history as the first Asian finalist guest performer. Her powerful performance captivated the entire audience.
From 2022 to January 2024, Wakasa was affiliated with Trilogic Production, releasing her debut cover album “The Advent of The Soul.”
In 2023, she was selected by the U.S. Department of State to participate in the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) as a representative of Japan. Themed around “Social Impact through Music,” she traveled across the United States for three weeks, engaging in deep cultural and professional exchange.
In 2024, she performed with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, further showcasing her artistry on the international stage and highlighting the strength and sensitivity of a Japanese artist’s musical expression.
On May 14, 2025, she released her long-awaited first original album, “Be Real.”
This album was brought to life by some of Japan’s most respected composers, arrangers, and musicians—each contributing their soul to create a deeply heartfelt and powerful work.
Renowned for her expressive depth and stunning vocal ability, Wakasa has also supported many well-known artists as a chorus singer, including TiA (gospel singer), drummer YOYOKA, Mai Kuraki, Awesome City Club, Riku Taira, and Hiromi Go. She continues to thrive across multiple genres, connecting people through the power of music.
